You might ask yourself why are there are so many flying and indeed non flying (management & operations) opportunities at this time in India? For all types of operations both large and small, from the government owned Air India and Air India Express that have been in operation since 1932 to the newly establishing operators such as Flyington Freighters who expect to be the launch customer for Airbus’s A300-600F aircraft..………
To those who are familiar with the Indian market over the past number of years, the answer is obvious. India has far surpassed the expectations of many, year on year it is experiencing a growth of approx 18% which some predict may increase to 25% - 30% in the coming years. Just four years ago there were 130 commercial aircraft operating in India, today that number stands at 350 aircraft and is expected to reach 550-600 commercial aircraft in operation by 2010.
This growth creates immediate requirements for qualified pilots and experienced operations personnel. Whilst there has certainly been a substantial amount of investment seen recently in pilot training schools in India the output from these schools will take time and until such a time that there is a balance in market supply and demand Indian carriers will seek to fulfil these requirements through foreign expertise.
Sigmar Aviation for the past number of years has spent a considerable amount of time working in India with some of the well known and newly establishing operators. Our work has been varied and extensive in the region with the supply of qualified pilots on numerous aircraft types, to the placement of Operations and Management Personnel, Instructors and Examiners, Engineers and Ferry Flight services………….
